Vordis from Moondance : VORDIS FROM MOONDANCE -- Vordis means 'spring fairy' - her barn name is Lukka (luck, happiness) - in honor of our dear friend Lukka in Iceland, and also in memoriam of her wonderful halfsister Lukka from Fore and Ice. Born April 18th at 10 am, healthy and bigboned with an appetite to match. Frelsa was just about 6 weeks overdue and then when the day came she was in a big hurry. She already had the spot picked out and stood there for hours every day on the field under a tree. This morning we opened the paddock as usual and she hurried out on the field. She had not shown any signs of imminent birthing and we went on with our daily business - but low and behold, at noon I checked again and there was the filly - on the other side of the fence. How Frelsa managed to squeeze a foal in one piece under that small space is a mystery to me. It was a warm and sunny day and the filly was sleeping so sound that I was afraid she would not be alive. When I touched her she woke up and I was very relieved! I had to maneuvre her along the fence to the next gate, and Mom was very happy when she was finally united with her daughter. By then the filly was approx 2 h old, almost dry and went straight for the milk. I brought them both into the stall for the routine after-birth care, and left them to bond. I was very sure it would be a chestnut filly, and so it was! Probably not the prettiest foal I ever saw, but her sister Skvetta looked just like her and turned into a very handsome tall mare...and these legs sure can stretch out and cover ground in picture perfect four beat Tolt! Watch her grow...

Sponn fra Enni, * 1994 in Iceland, imported 2004 : Sponn (spoon) - barn name Máni (Moon) - was trained at Holar, the most prestigious Riding School in Iceland. He is an ecxiting fourgaited horse with high lift, lots of willingness and great speedrange in all gaits. His has good Endurance and is a very honest horse. In the arena he carries children on and off the lunge line and is very reliable and laid back, very well trained. On the trail he is good on his own, but with other horses he has a lot of go and needs an experienced rider. He is a very good teacher and is very patient as a lesson horse. Tolting at fast speed with him is exhalarating and all his gaits are strong. He has been used as a Competition Horse, Lesson Horse, has done Long Distance Competition and is well versed in basic Dressage Work. While in Gait training he was also used for Cutting (just for fun) and seems to have a natural talent for it. In late Spring 2006 we had a 12 year old girl as a guest and she rode him daily on very difficult trails, swam with him (video here http://ca.video.yahoo.com/playlist/104520?l=104520&o=10 look for video #12) , jumped up to 3' and did some Ringwork as well. The little girls have a good time on the Leadline with him....and in 2007, my 5 year old daughter Amber claimed him as her horse, and in 2008 my 3 year is learning to ride on him. He is as gentle as possible with the children and keeps them safe. He proves himself more and more to be an amazingly versatile horse with many strengths, great attitude and spirit. Would make a great family horse for an experienced adult that wants an exciting and versatile that is also reliable enough in the arena to teach their kids. I will only let him go to a dry climate to a home where he is well cared for and loved.

Aurora from Moondance : AURORA FROM MOONDANCE -- Aurora was the second Canadian Sproti offspring, born May 25, 2006 at 12.30 am. She has the same color as her Mom Aska, a light Palomino color - and with the same cute star as Manadis. Aurora is named after the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) that showed in the sky the night she was born, and Aurora also means Goddess of Dawn; and Dawn is the time we first met her. She is a good sized filly with lots of bone and lots of hairflair. First pics taken at 7 h - WATCH HER GROW! From the beginning Aurora had very springy, high and wide movements and it is safe to say that as we see her mature, she will be a very showy horse with good balance. She is smart and has lots of personality.
